the floodgates have been opened. the stars come out to watch the burning wreck sink deeper and deeper into the salty, icy waters. people have scampered onto the deck, excited about this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. some have brought their cameras, taking pictures of the poor souls that have already ended up in the current's deadly grip. and when the stern has finally submerged, when the ocean has claimed those who tried, once more, to conquer it, to impose their will onto the forces of nature, when the last bubble has disturbed this midnight's sky – there will no trace of anything, of anyone ever having been there. and if their families didn't remember them, it would be as if they had not existed at all.
