i guess this is a new record. within less than 24 hours there were more people asking for my help than in the whole previous month. and these were not just random people. they included the neighbor who doesn't really speak to me otherwise, the obnoxious kid from about 350km away and someone i haven't seen or spoken to for about two years (and who i've even then only known for two hours).
but not the damsel in distress whose violent and frightfully inept oversized calculating machine threatens to take over the world and – even worse – ruin her fancy revealing evening dress. that would be the point where i'd walk in, screwdriver in my left, the notebook in my right hand, smiling into the camera (don't forget the artificial spark on the shiny teeth!) staring at the villain with my steel blue (ahem) eyes, then looking over to her saying something like "don't worry, miss, i'll take care of that" before single-handedly turning the dress-eating machine into a peaceful lump of metal that even does her taxes. and this would be the point where she'd walk up to me and i'd wink into the camera one last time before the aperture obscures us from the audience's view.
ah well... you can't have everything.
