if this were but a movie...

reusing phrases is a sign of a lack of creativity, i know. but after writing a song with this title, i wanted to write something else about it, something more profound, something less obscure because i... well, i don't really know why but this place is sure not to be read by the people all this is about and, well, that's a good thing.
you know these kind of movies where... ah, i feel i've written that before. it's all the same, really, just with a twist.
well, okay, there are these movies where there's someone, let's call him donnie, who has been ignoring that girl, let's name her chloe, for some time, being too superficial and too focused on, well, the obvious physical attributes to notice that she's an incredible girl, nice, funny, clever, the whole palette.
now, some time passes and he, donnie, meets her again and - you guessed it - realizes what a great person she really is. meanwhile, however, the situation has changed and she's now someone else's girlfriend, let's call him frank.
to make the situation even more complex (and interesting plot-wise), frank and donnie really get along fine, they become really good friends and everything's fine... except that donnie always feels the tension when he's with chloe. he doesn't want to threaten or sacrifice any friendship - neither with frank nor with chloe - but you can see that there's something going on.

When you look into her eyes
And you see that well-known glow
You wish you were at the movies
With popcorn in the front row
When you wish that you could fight
For your long-lost Juliet
And you deliberately ignore
That at the end they both were dead
good lord... and that's the third time already. either someone's making a really boring film and i don't know about it, or... or...And you see that well-known glow
