yeah, sure...

it's one thing to ridicule people on tv. that happens all the time. sometimes i think tv was created for people to make an ass of themselves. it's not that nice when people make fun of others so that they get the laugh but, well, that's what it is like.
today, i saw something else. on a private german tv station there was a show where people in deep financial trouble were followed. there was someone who had to pay almost € 200,000, had lost his first company and his wife due to money and had two children to take care of.
they brought him someone to take care of all the debts and someone to worry about the children.
yeah, nice, you might say and i'd probably agree. it's good that this fellow gets a chance to fix things or at least turn things to the better side.
but what really, really shocked me about that show were the comments by the speakers.
"will mr. xyz be relieved of all his debts? see after the commercials"
"and while mr. abc works on the financial stuff, mrs. hubbabubba takes care of the children"
and in every interview with this poor guy, in every sentence he said you could clearly tell that he was done, that it would not be too long before he snapped. put the camera on that guy, he's going to cry.
ah, well, perhaps that's what entertainment is today. perhaps we're going to see a lot more of that in the years to come.
sometimes i hate tv.
and myself for watching it.
