all work and no play

did i mention that there are times when life just sucks? when days are so occupied that you can't seem to find time to rest, to take your breath? when your mind is so busy that you can't seem to find sleep at night? when there are so many things to keep track of, so many things to organize, so many things to worry about that there is virtually none of the 24 hours left?
the past weeks (well, i could also say months) have been like this - and the climax was reached lately. at least i hope that it's a climax because any more would be really too much for me.
it's not about work (where i'm shifting uneasily between boredom and being overworked), at least not only. work only adds up to the pile of stuff i have to cope with.
and when you take care of somebody's pc, spend your whole weekend on that fucking thing, get it over to his place on monday right after work, stay there for another couple of hours because this guy simply forgot how to work with his telephone thingy that takes care of distributing calls and so on... when you then set off home without even a tiny little 'thank you', you know that a) this sucks and that b) the bill will be a little bigger than usually - which means bigger than zero.
well, there's one streak of light on the darkening horizon. it's a little project (i don't know, somehow i always write of some little projects that either turn up dead in the end or turn out to be much larger than they were originally intended to be) that started already more than two months ago and that's progressing nicely. we're in the process of polishing things and wrapping everything up nicely so that people (you) can have a look at it - or well, look is not exactly right. it's mainly got to do with smell and sound ;o)
well, enough for now... i'm going to have a look at a little something (german article) and see if it's worth the hassle.
by the way, i just read a nice explanation for the erotophobia (just made that one up, you get what i mean) and agrophilia (guess what?) in the us. it goes like this:

i always get these mails (mainly in english) about penis enlargements, viagra offers and so on. as there's so much of that stuff, there obviously must be a demand - which means that all the americans seem to have small candle wicks (i just love that cockney dictionary). this obviously makes them so angry that they have to let their frustration out on something - mainly violent games. this is okay, everyone's happy. yet, if these games now also contain sexual content, the americans are reminded of their tiny lolly licks which makes them even more aggressive than before. and that's dangerous. therefore sex is dangerous and should only performed under closely monitored conditions.so much for sanity, thank you very much. can i have fries with that?
