hah, perl and sql make an excellent combination - if you know how to use them. i didn't until now but i'm starting to realize the sheer beauty and power. i've got 173 lines of perl code with some embedded sql which would have taken me so much longer if i had done it 'the regular way', with flat text files, file locking and sorting-and-selecting by hand.
finally, after some many hideous experiences with visual basic and access at school and at work, i feel i'm on the right track now, the sensible, fun track.
i'm happy (although i'm not even half way done).
