people and cars

what's this thing about people and their cars? especially germans, as it seems? i think there is some kind of serious mass-obsession going on. the car becomes more than just a simple means of transportation, it turns into a symbol for... something. wealth, power, perhaps. and when you get close to touching that image, that status, you're done.
i think, all this is rather ridiculous. i never saw the point of it. i don't need a car, i don't really like driving and i think i can live very well without.
yeah, i think it's crazy... but that's not what i'm going to tell the police when the letter comes. witness... sounds so important when it's all about a fucking 150€ max. hit-and-run is quite difficult without the hit-part.
