rating just for you [aug 29 2003, 20:17]

this entry is green - i.e. good - although i'm not really sure whether it's going to be. just for you, apu ;o)

i had intended to write something yesterday, just like the day before yesterday and the day before that. the problem was that every day there was an important thing to do, to prepare, to write to... well, let's skip all these excuses and just get to the point(s).
when i came back on friday, i had no idea what this week would bring. i thought about doing a little stuff on flaschenpost (i really started, but i'm not quite finished), writing some cute little diary-entries and being extraordinarily lazy! well, that didn't really work out, mainly because of one reason.
on saturday, patrick, anne & martin came over here to watch the lord of the rings again. well, we (patrick, anne & myself) had planned to do some larp (live action roleplay, basically the pen & paper-stuff, just mainly without pens and paper and a lot more fresh air), we had already developed a rough story, had thought about whom to get as npc (non-player characters) and as players but... well, it was all kind of vague.
on saturday, patrick and anne told me that they indended to get this thing over by wednesday. wednesday! that left three days for planning everything, writing everything, getting people together and... well, all that stuff that tends to need a terrible lot of time!
well, we started, we wrote, we designed, we brew (sorry... martin? still alive?), we walked (a real hell of a lot) and in the end we met on wednesday to prepare the last little things.
i'll skip all the stuff that the players did and didn't do, i just won't skip one story... martin's character climbed a tree and found a mushroom that made him climb a little better - and laugh (both until he climbs the next tree). the problem was that the group didn't really read the notice (obviously) so they got to the local healer (one of our npc's) and got a healing potion (the stuff that tasted ugliest of all)... all he would have had to do was climb a tree...
however, i suppose everything was quite successful. except for some (usual) anomalies everything worked fine, almost all of the npc's played their roles seriously and... well, it was great fun!
however, while i was standing in a forest on tuesday to check some locations, i got a call. klaus told me that my zivildienst would start two days early - on thursday! the 'administration' had obviously intended to give me some kind of introduction and as klaus was already there as a kind of temporary substitute... i started working yesterday!
i spent the whole day installing wlan-access points in one building and preparing the pcs for the doctors which are supposed to use the wlan-network. quite monotonous (but strenuous) stuff. fun, though.
today was dominated by some craftsmen that obviously cut through one of the network-connections to one level of another building. it took us almost the entire day to figure out where the problem was... hmpf ;o)
and now that i'm back and hoping for a more or less relaxing weekend i remember the flaschenpost-stuff, as well as some stuff i promised to do for a friend of mine... and i know that the weekend won't be as relaxing as i hoped.
still... good to be back, really.

song of the day: don't know... you'll get one the next time ;o)

ps: and obviously this entry was meant to be green. yay!
