- getting suse linux 8.2, sounds interesting (although i used to mistrust everything past 7.2)
- installing suse linux 8.2, everything alright
- noticing that 8.2 calls my primary hd /dev/hde and my raid-disk /dev/hda... strange. ignoring for now.
- trying to boot windows xp (after quite some time), realizing that i misconfigured grub
- reconfiguring grub (taking some time9 and realizing that i don't really understand the concept
- deciding to kill grub and reinstall good old lilo
- realizing that /dev/hde kills lilo, too
- reinstalling 8.2 for heaven's sake, this time using lilo right from the start
- deciding to check mails (mozilla, 1.5 not yet installed on 8.2). booting xp
- getting 'autochk missing, skipping autochk' and a nice clean reboot (with a bluescreen i can't see)
- inserting the windows xp-cd. selecting 'repair'. doing fixmbr and fixboot. ignoring everything.
- rebooting and getting 'ntldr missing'.
- somehow writing this entry and cursing all this mess...
