movies, books and music
[dec 31 2002, 00:48]
just went to see the original version of harry potter 2. in contrast to my episode 2-experience it was quite amazing. obviously they solved their sound-problems. well, as obviously they got other problems for that. the sound, of course, was in english but as it seems they used the german version of the picture. in the scene where harry writes something into tom riddle's diary, there were german subtitles... weeeird...
okay, to get back to the title of this post - two more things to go as we finished the 'movies'.
let's get to books. there is one that i found particularly amazing. my parents gave it to me for christmas and i read it the day before yesterday. it's 'coraline' by neil gaiman. it's some kind of more mature version of 'alice in wonderland'. the funny thing is that in an interview neil stated that most grown-ups that read this book were completely horrified by it - yet the children he read it to didn't feel that fear although they admitted that it was quite scary.
it's a really interesting book for my liking - although you could also call it a short story because of it's length... okay, exaggerating a little...
next point is music. aah, music ;o) another of these famous christmas-presents. i also got 'gutterflower' by the goo goo dolls. nothing special, nothing super-artistic but... quite quite quite nice... and this is why the quote for today is actually a quote frm the song 'truth is a whisper' by - you guessed it - the goo goo dolls:
charon, movied melancholic

truth is a whisper and only a choice
nobody hears above this noise
it's always a risk when you try and believe
i know there's so much more than me
yeah i got caught in the ruse of the world
it's just a promise no one ever keeps
and now it's changing while we sleep
and no one can see
you know all i am
feel this moment in you
you know all i am
can you teach me to believe in something
sometimes you just choke on the smell
just to breathe
i need to question what i need
rhythm of silence
that beats through your mind
still you forget what you deny
who's the one you answer to
do you listen when he speaks
or is everything for you
and do you find it hard to sleep
or is it easy on your own
will you ever find some peace
before you're gonecharon, movied melancholic
