the huge man with the white beard

every year it's the same. packing presents and all that stuff.
do you remember what that was like when you were a kid? like six or seven years old? when you could hardly sleep the night before christmas because you were so excited about what you were going to get? the time when you went all around your house when your parents were out to look for the place where they hid your presents (well, intelligence reports that there are still some people doing that... )? when the day, the day was so horribly long and seemed to stretch onwards right into eternity? the time when the moment you entered the room and saw the tree with the candles in it captured you completely? when presents were more important than anything else in the whole world?
well, at least for me that changed a little. but the good thing is that i'm not in that 'i hate christmas, go away'-phase that some people i know are currently suffering from. i am going to enjoy the day as well as the two following days and i wish all you guys [question to the intelligent/native english-speakers out there: is 'guys' used for male and female people? i don't know, but i mean both *g*] out there the happiest, merriest christmas of them all.
charon, candlelit
